Here are some quick tips to select the best carpet tucker for your installation:
Nylon vs. Chrome-Plated Steel: Carpet tuckers made of nylon like ROBERTS 10-522-4 and Capitol 110901 are excellent for standard wall-line tucking and delicate environments. They are lightweight, budget-friendly, and will not scuff paint or dent decorative baseboard. Carpet Tuckers made of chrome-plated steel like ROBERTS 10-521 and Capitol 110900 are best for heavy-duty stair installations and setting carpet into tack strips.
Corner Design: Rounded edges ensure you can wedge carpet deep into the crevice between the tack strip and baseboard without tearing the backing or scratching the paint.
