Pro Tip: When deciding which tile saw is best for your project, choose one that can handle the largest tile diagonal you plan to use. A 24'' tile saw is standard for small jobs, and 48'' models are better for large-format porcelain.

Motor power is important: For dense materials like porcelain and stone, look for a motor with at least 1.5 HP or 10-15 amps to prevent stalling and ensure smooth operation.

For complex cuts on large format tile, choose a wet saw with a powerful motor. A higher amperage motor, like the 1.8HP plunging motor in our 49'' Bridge Saw that ensures smoother, faster cuts without overheating.

Keep in mind the sliding table and rail system: A smooth, stable, and rigid sliding table ensures straight, accurate, and clean cuts.

Blade size is one of the most important features when deciding on a tile saw: 7'' blades are good for small to medium jobs and portability. Tile saws with 10'' blades are best for thicker, denser materials like natural stone or large porcelain tiles.

Make sure the motorized tile saw has a tilting rail that offers various options for straight cuts, and that it has a saw table wide enough to handle the rip-cut (longitudinal) and diagonal cuts of your tiles. A cooling water spray delivery system and high-performance pump are important features to look for, to ensure uninterrupted blade cooling and significant dust reduction.

Easy to handle accessories like QEP’s TileTrim Square can also make a difference in the results of your project. Specifically engineered for use when cutting tile trims and jolly's, this is a straightforward tool, and a must-have for professional tilers and DIY enthusiasts who favor un-complicated tools and need accuracy and efficiency in their tile projects.

Finally, keep in mind that a lightweight, easy to transport tile saw will make it easier for you to carry and store it for later use.
