ROBERTS® Silicone Moisture Barrier is an underlayment designed for use with wood subfloors only, to reduce vapor flow without trapping moisture. It is engineered with a silicone coating that minimizes moisture penetration to the finished flooring planks. The smooth surface side allows installers to easily slide planks during install, allowing for a fast installation. Made from repurposed paper that is environmentally safe, it does not contain any toxic tar or tar-based materials found in some moisture barriers. The environmentally friendly paper does not leave black residue on hands or walls, and allows for a more visible chalk line. In addition, it does not fall apart during installation like red rosin, kraft and wax papers. It exceeds the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommendations for staple and nail-down installations of solid and engineered wood floors and floating LVT applications
